You could still by vinyl then, but because cassettes were so easier to use and store, most select to have them instead. There were several that stuck with the record albums, but they were earlier on their way to obscurity by that point. I did own one though, and I believe I still have it somewhere. Noticeably, it has stood the test of time while the cassettes I had from those years have long since vanished or broken.
